FAQs
Selecting short-term rehab or long-term care can be a daunting experience. The following questions and answers should help guide you to make this very important decision.
Will I Be Able To Have Visitors?
Visitors are key and encouraged for the resident’s well-being. In certain circumstances, special arrangements can be made to fit everyone’s schedule. As appropriate, we follow all COVID-related visiting guidance from regulatory authorities.
What Can Be Expected About The Transition From Hospital To Rehab?
Once the patient is admitted to our center with a physician’s order, the nursing and therapy teams will make an assessment to create the plan of care. Therapy may be provided one on one or in a group. Weekly assessments of progress will be completed with the goal of discharge to home or to a lower level of care.
What Items Should Be Brought, And What Is Provided?
We provide furniture, plus amenities like linens, towels, and toiletries. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items such as family photos, a familiar bedspread, or a favorite throw. Residents will bring their own clothing to reflect their comfort and style.
What Should a Patient Not Bring?
Do not bring large sums of money, jewelry, or valuables. Do not bring razors until discussed with therapist.
Can I Have a Private Room?
There is a limited number of private rooms in our facility, and they are assigned based on diagnosis, medical necessity, and availability. Certain circumstances, like the need for isolation, for example, require a private room and will take precedence when room assignments are made.
How Will I Receive My Medicine?
Medicines are administered by certified or licensed personnel. Prescriptions are ordered by the facility per physician orders. Prescriptions are delivered directly to the center, secured in a medication room, and dispensed as ordered.
What About My Diet?
Our menus are developed and overseen by a Registered Dietitian. They are adjusted or modified to fit residents’ specific needs or restrictions.
What Are The Payment Options?
The payment of care varies. Most of the time payment is from many sources, including private funds and/or long-term care insurance. Medicare covers post-hospital or short-term skilled care only. It does not pay for ongoing nursing home care. Medicaid might pay a portion of the cost for those who meet the financial and medical requirements. Insurances and Medicare Replacement plans can also be an option for payment.
